Welcome to our Bed'n'Backyard! Right in the middle of Malles, in the heart of the Upper Venosta valley, the FinanzKaserne has stood for 50 years, visible from afar and yet hidden behind bars and walls. After years of vacancy, it now reopens its doors as the FinKa hostel and becomes a worldly, inviting place and space for hospitality! Responsible use of resources and preservation of historical significance meets feelgood atmosphere and honest hospitality - and delicious pizza.
Away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, the FinKa offers opportunities for individual, unlimited fulfillment. Base camp for the fabulous mountain ranges and all kinds of sporting highlights? Starting point and guide to the rich history of the valley? Cozy retreat for rest and relaxation? This and much more can be discovered, by guests and locals alike - always framed by the famous Venostan hospitality.

Prices
The listed prices are per person, per night, including breakfast & Venosta Vally Card (free utilization of the Venosta Valley train as well as all other types of public transport throughout South Tyrol region.) and all services if not otherwise specified. Half board and group rates on request.

Every detail of our FinKa is handpicked with care, to give you everything you'll ever need in our Bed'n'Backyard. In every corner you can unwind and leave your cares behind. The heart of our FinKa is without a doubt the Spaccio on the 1st floor, whose dining and lounge areas are filled with life day and night. What would you like today? Hours of conversation and a huge treasure trove of books in the reading room? "Hoangorten" in the backyard idyll with outdoor kitchen? Chilling out in the courtyard with fire bowl, and, thanks to sight and sound protection, party once in a while? Playing and laughing on the adventure playground with sand, water and many surprises? All this and much more is waiting for you! In addition, the FinKa also offers many more amenities, such as:

Food & drink
The dining area in the Spaccio, with wood-burning stove and Viennese coffee house furniture from the 60s, is our pride and joy. From the first coffee to the nightcap at the bar you can indulge here to your heart's content in cheerful company. Whether the varied, healthy breakfast buffet, a delicious pizza in the evening or the changing daily special. At lunchtime, we will gladly recommend insider tips from the surrounding gastronomy or prepare a healthy bag lunch for you! All of this, of course, from high-quality, regional ingredients.
But that's not all: in our Open Kitchen you can give free rein to your own cooking skills. In the FinKa, even the kitchen becomes an experience, and who knows – maybe our chef can be convinced to go shopping with you and conjure up something tasty in the evening, together?
Surroundings & location
Visible from afar, the elevator shaft designed by Esther Stocker rises up in a playfully geometrical manner as a guidepost and lighthouse. Around it, there is much to discover; the village center, for example, only 100m away. Or the famous hiking and skiing areas of the Upper Venosta valley, Watles, St. Valentin and Reschen, easily accessible in 15 minutes by bus. Even further, directly from the nearby train station, to Merano, Bolzano, Austria or Switzerland! Whether in the fascinating cultural and natural landscape of our unique valley or beyond, a vacation in our Bed'n'Backyard will delight everybody! We are happy to assist with advice and recommendations - or to organize a pleasant evening on site.

FinKa Basecamp
For companies, universities, and groups, we offer the perfect setting to host inspiring seminars and workshops in a unique environment. With us, you can not only collaborate productively but also explore the picturesque region with various hiking or cycling opportunities. Enjoy a tailor-made experience for groups of 20 people or more, whether it's for a day, a weekend, or longer. Cancellation policy
INDIVIDUAL TRAVELER: For cancellations made up to 15 days before the date of arrival, no additional fee will be charged.
For cancellations within 14 to 1 day prior to arrival, 50% of the total booking will be charged. For cancellations on the day of arrival, 100% of the total booking will be charged. In case of early departure, late arrival or no-show, we will charge a cancellation fee of 100% of the amount paid for the missing days.
SMALL GROUPS (5 - 10 per.): For cancellations made up to 21 days before the date of arrival, no additional fee will be charged. For cancellations within 20 to 8 days prior to arrival, 50% of the total booking will be charged. For cancellations within 7 to 2 days prior to arrival, 80% of the total booking will be charged. For cancellations within 1 day prior to arrival, 100% of the total booking will be charged. In case of early departure, late arrival or no-show, we will charge a cancellation fee of 100% of the amount paid for the missing days.
LARGE GROUPS (above 10 per.): For cancellations made up to 46 days before the date of arrival, no additional fee will be charged. For cancellations within 45 to 30 days prior to arrival, 30% of the total booking will be charged. For cancellations within 29 to 11 days prior to arrival, 60% of the total booking will be charged. For cancellations within 10 to 2 days prior to arrival, 80% of the total booking will be charged. For cancellations within 1 day prior to arrival, 100% of the total booking will be charged. In case of early departure, late arrival or no-show, we will charge a cancellation fee of 100% of the amount paid for the missing days.
Room cancellations must always be made in writing.
